New Spa at the Waldorf - There’s a new oasis for New Yorkers and tourists who would like to escape the stress of the city for a few hours. Last month, the Waldorf-Astoria Collection opened its first Guerlain Spa at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel. The 14,000-square-foot spa, on the 19th floor, below, has a footbath lounge, 13 dry-treatment rooms and three hydrotherapy suites with Vichy showers. Refreshments are also available in the treatment rooms, all of which have private bathrooms and some of which can connect to serve groups. The spa’s signature treatment, the Waldorf Impériale, a two-hour cocooning process that includes a massage and a facial using Guerlain skin-care products, costs $510. Negotiations are under way for the next Guerlain Spa to open at the Roosevelt, a Waldorf-Astoria Collection property in New Orleans, in June (www.guerlainspa.com).
