Unusual Spa Treatments

ABC news has recently published a story about the unusual spa treatments offered at different spas.

The story said that spas around the world are luring guests and well-seekers with wild and wacky treatments.

Lets analyze if their are strange or not.

1. Wine bath at Hakone Kowakien Yunessun (a japanese spa with theme baths) in Kowakien, Hakone, Japan. Bathing in red wine may be unusual but it have been practiced for some years in Spain, France, Italy and Argentine spas, mostly and wineyards or winery hotels.

2. Snake treatments. Snakes rests on the body of a spa-goer to give soothing. This is really unusual and practiced at Talmey El´Azar, Israel.

3. Apple bath. This is a very strange spa treatment for a Guiness record. Near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a spa used 20,000 apples into a swimming pool to set a national record.

4. Beer bath. A pale ale bath to rejuvenate your skin in the Real Beer Bath, at Chodova Plana, Czech Republic. Sounds rare but we have heard of such experience at other spas and places in Germany, Austria and Ireland.

5. Chocolate therapies. Article on ABC shows a chocolate bath in Japan, but it is very common at some countries, mainly in Spain and Mexico. Usual treatment in many spanish spas.

6. Snow therapy. This is really new and amazing. Fake snow is the center of a treatment at the Caesars Palace hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

7. Naftalan bath to alleviate back pains. Absolutely rare and strange considering it is a nonflammable type of crude oil. This is a naftalan bathing session at Baleken, Azerbaijan.

8. Fish therapy. A new therapy commented on several spa blogs on these days. Dr Fish bath is performed in Japan, where the fish bath offers 1,000 West Asian fish. The Garra Rufa fish is used in the treatment, where the fish feeds on the dead skin from the feet of visitors, and it is believed by some to cure skin diseases.

9. Golden facial. Umo Inc in Japan offers the 24-carat gold leaf. The gold facial helps to improve blood circulation, skin elasticity and rejuvenates the skin. Priced close to $ 250, it is a good facial alternative.
